Del Posto: La Dolce Vita by the sea

Del Posto: La Dolce Vita by the sea

Unbeatable waterfront views, inviting décor, and refined Mediterranean cuisine redolent with the promise of a carefree summer – Del Posto, the new Italian outpost in Vouliagmeni Bay is a welcome addition to coastal dining.

With Vouliagmeni’s famed turquoise bay for a backdrop, to the sight of young sailing enthusiasts learning the ropes on their toy-like Optimists, and the cloudless Attic sky for a roof, Del Posto is more than a dining destination, it is an island escape within the city. Split into an all-day café and bar area on the one side and a restaurant open for brunches, lunches and dinner on the other, Del Posto’s open-spaced plan lends itself naturally to social distancing norms, while retaining its homey, intimate vibe.

This new addition to Vlassis Stathokostopoulos’ portfolio of restaurants fills a much-needed gap in the market for a good Italian restaurant with views to match.  Award-winning chef Michalis Dounetas’ innovative cuisine doesn’t disappoint. Try their rocket-strawberry salad with a scoop of lemon sorbet – a clear winner, as is the deconstructed carbonara and squid-ink tagliatelle with salmon. Everything here, from the pastas to the bread, is freshly made, and caters to gluten-free options too. The extensive wine list culled from Italian and Greek vineyards, as well as its impressive cocktail menu, enhances the laid-back summer vibe Del Posto exudes. The décor in muted shades of ecru, with generous bouquets of freshly cut flowers, feels more like an inviting summer home.

Open all day for coffees, light lunches, healthy snacks, fresh juices and smoothies, Del Posto offers guilt-free indulgence in a killer setting.
