This evening @berniereliadesgallery opens the firs

This evening @berniereliadesgallery opens the first exhibition of cult fashion designer turned artist #martinmargiela in Athens. This initial part of a double show, alongside its twin at the gallery’s Brussels space, presents a mix of his sculpture, painting, installation, collage and film work past and present. Must see! Opening tonight 6-9pm; exhibition runs until May.

Alexandros Simopoulos’ seascape series “Every beach I have ever slept in” has us looking forward to the long summer nights Greece is so loved for. Originally painted @thermia_project in 2022, the artist worked in a mix of acrylics and oils. Luckily it’s not long now until the winter weather passes and life starts warming up again 🌅

Today offers a rare chance to visit the hidden stu

Today offers a rare chance to visit the hidden studio of Mike Cornford, a UK-born artist who moved to Athens in 1968. Cornford worked for years designing Olympic Airlines graphics before turning his attention to paintings and assemblages that celebrate the traditional culture of Greece. After opening an exhibition of his work titled “Sto Kafeneio” with a rebetiko night at Petralona art space @alkinois last Thursday, the show’s curators @upsidedowncrowns and @transcoda_visions are hosting a tour of his nearby studio at 14.30 today at Evromidis 3. Join to learn more about this previously unexhibited artist and see his paintings series “The Mothers”, made 1980-2015, which depicts overlooked female figures from Greek history. A unique opportunity not to be missed! “Sto Kafeneio” @alkinois continues until 21st January.
