WHAT: Re-live the stunning underwater universe of the late free-diver Jacques Mayol, who gained international fame with Luc Besson’s cult classic “The Big Blue”. The immersive documentary, made by Greece’s Lefteris Charitos and France’s Benoit Lichte, takes the viewer from the Mediterranean to Japan, and from India to the Bahamas, introducing Mayol’s closest friends and family, and weaving rare archival material from the 1950s to uncover how the “dolphin man” revolutionised free-diving and brought a new consciousness to our relationship with the sea and our inner-selves. With narration by Jean-Marc Barr, the actor who famously portrayed Mayol in “The Big Blue.”
The movie will be screened with both English & Greek subtitles. During the weekend, Samsung also offers cinema goers the chance to dive into the world of virtual reality by watching the 11-minute Dolphin Man VR movie using VR Gear.
