DESTE: Kostis Velonis’ 8 Funerary Masks
WHAT: The DESTE Foundation, as a grand artistic response to the 199th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence, has commissioned Greek artist Kostis Velonis to conceive an immersive presentation of eight funerary masks of fighters from Greece’s War of Independence in 1821. The exhibition will be on view in the old Hydra Slaughterhouse until November 1, 2020.
