Luiz Dolino’s purist geometric art at Casa do Brasil
Luiz Dolino, whose signature abstract geometric designs in bold colour blocks have made him one of the most recognisable artists in Brazil, exhibits a selection of his works at the Casa do Brasil. Dolino has always been fascinated by the pictorial language of geometric abstraction, based on the use of simple geometric forms placed in non illusionistic space and combined into non-objective compositions. A graduate of the Escolinha de Arte do Brasil and of the Museu de Arte Moderna in Rio de Janeiro, he was the President of the TV Escola at MEC and the first director of Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (whose Rio and Sao Paolo museums are consistently ranked among the top 100 in the world.)
